I’m a mechanical engineer and this blog is a record of my journey towards becoming an artist.
My primary materials are several watercolor notebooks, dip pens, bottles of ink, and watercolors.
Here is a map of my travels thus far:

Hey man,
So I never got to officially see you off on your last day. By the time I had a moment to stop by you had already left. Anyway I just wanted to say that I wish you the best of luck with your artistic journey. It it obvious that you have talent and I think it’s great that you are going to explore that. If there is one thing I am learning it is that people are not meant to sit at computers all day and attend useless meetings that seldom serve a purpose. Goodluck and next time you are in the area we should get a group together and grab lunch. Take care,
Jesse
Haha thanks Jesse! Although offices & meetings may at times seem dreary don’t forget the perks of a real job – not the least of which is being able to afford not to be homeless!!
All the best,
Pete
Hi
I just wanted to say its an interesting thing you’re doing.
I actually sent you an email to the craigslist address, but I wasn’t sure if you would receive my message that way, so I’m sending out this hello here just in case!
Would love to hear from you.

I just spent more than an hour looking through Peter’s art. He’s brilliant! The range of media and subjects he’s
using is fabulous. I went back to September until I realized I was going to be late for lector duty. Matt, since you know Peter, I’m sure you’ll appreciate these. Tom,
I know you know Anne and Bob, not sure about Peter.
Taking time off from a job as an engineer at Velcro in Manchester,NH, still on a consultant basis though, He has the opportunity to follow his dream. He’s very
disciplined, working daily and keeping a sketch journal. He’s an inspiration to me, even though I don’t come close to his talent.
His subjects range from people at coffee shops, waiting in line at Starbucks, in Central Park, or buskers in the subway; sketches from movies, his dreams, landscapes, models, fashion, critters, sci-fi, self portraits, buildings, children’s stories (character, monsters); they come alive and say so much. His use of a variety of media: pen, crayon, oil, colored pencils, watercolors shows how well he is progressing, even though his comments are pretty tough on himself. His amazing wit and sense of humor really come through. I see a book in his future! Best!
Peter, this is a copy of what I sent out to my brother in law and Matt.
Just wanted you to know I’m in your cheering section! Glo
Hi Gloria! Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words. Part of the inspiration for this trip came from seeing your own travel sketches and thinking what a fantastic idea that was. I’m glad to hear I’ve inspired you in turn!
Nice work. I was not the first person to give you a thumbs up on stumbleupon. If you get stuck, let me know. Sister sledge will give you a bump.
Thanks Matt!
Pete,
We miss you here, but I’m thoroughly enjoying living vicariously thru your travels. Your sketches look great, I particularly like the architectual ones, which is the reason for my note. You should enter the Architectural Record’s 2011 Cocktail Napkin Sketch Contest, Here’s the link:

Enjoy New Orleans, try to get over to Frenchmen St. if you can, much better music and local vibe than the touristy Bourbin St.
Take care

Cool website.
Anyway, is there anything that want to give you funding for your happiness – traveling around the world?
I don’t get the point how could you attract an organization or people to support you traveling?
Thanks for sharing =D
Ethnographers and photojournalists are two examples of occupations involving traveling, immersion, and the careful study of a local society. I’m not suggesting I deserve to be paid for what I am currently producing. Only that if there is any organization which might value a paintingjournalist, I’m available to hire and will travel!
Hey Peter,
Thanks for posting the painting of me, I think you really captured the feeling of the scene. Nice work throughout the site. I hope you keep it up man, you’re really talented.
If you’re still in town, hit me up tomorrow if you wanna hang out.

Pete – We love your art work. Great stuff! Cindy O. and I are sending along an electronic “Hello!” We miss you in MHT. Cindy, as you might expect, has been keeping the office well decorated with your posts. Hope that you are doing well (it sure seems to be the case).
Hello there Andy and Cindy! Glad to hear you’re still enjoying the art! Tell all the folks back at ITC I say hello. We’ll have to get together for lunch sometime when I’m back in the northeast.
